My work is influenced by the physicality of a close relationship with nature from a lifetime of hiking, camping and gardening as well as the physicality of movement and breath from many years as a modern dancer.  My relationship to clay as a medium is an interactive and reciprocal process whereby the artistic idea becomes action and the clay responds with its own ideas about movement , energy, and suspension.  Together the forms have evolved from abstract, but more figurative ones, with various types of legs, to ones that are more about inherent energy and breath as connecting elements.
